"So happy to be back at Royal Albert Hall through Saudha' - says Shapla Salique
After a world-tour with Nitin Sawhney, the finest British Bengali singer of this generation Shapla Salique is joining Saudha's avant garde fusion concert Re-interpretation of Frida Kahlo through Indian classical music at Royal Albert Hall happening on Wednesday 13 July at 7pm (Door-Open).
In her reaction, Shapla Salique says "I am so happy to be back at such a world-famous venue that I absolutely love the Royal Albert hall. I am also very excited and honoured to be a part of Saudha's event for the first time."
She says "I am a huge fan of incredible Frida Kahlo and her work. She is not only an important figure in art-history but also a symbol of strength, equality and originality. I am really excited for this very unique and special event."
Directed by poet Ahmed Kaysher, this breath-taking hypnotic production also features a leading Tabla maestro Pt Sanju Sahai, the finest Bengali singer of this generation Shapla Salique, an acclaimed spoken-word artist Shree Ganguly and an award-winning film-maker Makbul Chowdhury.
